Materi Bahasa Inggris : Greeting

In our daily lives, we frequently come across other individuals. To initiate interactions or conversations, we need to employ greetings. Greetings are words or expressions used to welcome someone.

Greetings can be formal or informal. Formal greetings are used in official situations, such as when encountering someone older or someone we've just met. On the other hand, informal greetings are used in casual situations, like when meeting friends or family.

Here are some examples of formal greetings:

- Greetings!
- Good morning.
- Good afternoon.
- Good evening.
- Good night.
- How are you?

Conversely, there are informal greetings as well:

- Hi!
- What's up?
- How are you doing?
- Long time no see!
- Nice to meet you.

Greetings can be conveyed in various ways, not just through words. We can also use eye contact, smiles, or handshakes. The form of greeting we choose will be adjusted based on culture and our relationship with the person being greeted.
